BRITISH FLOWERS GO TO SCHOOL!
Pupils at a small forest school on the Herefordshire/Worcestershire border are gearing up for British Flowers Week, growing flowers in their school grounds. Their flowers will supplemented by local flower farmer, Faye Lane of Rural Floral, and arranged in small jam-jar and tin can posies to sell on a playground mini market stall to raise funds for their new gardening club.
The children will be delivering posies to local nursing homes for the residents to enjoy, thereby learning an in important lesson: not only with they be raising cash for school from their creations, but it’s great too to bring joy to others with a thoughtful gift.
Rural Floral will also be holding a flower crown workshop with the pupils in school, so they can wear their creations whilst they ‘work’ their market stalls and visit the care homes.
