Spend a  relaxing afternoon in the beautiful walled garden at Howbury Farm Flowers .  Lucy or Jane will show you round and you will learn about the flowers that are being grown at this time of year.  You will be able to select a variety of stems from the garden or buckets on the terrace.  Then in the workshop you will be shown how to make a flower crown by taping flowers onto a wire crown.

British Flowers Week 2019 Special Events at The Flower Folk

The Flower Folk, a Newcastle based flower and plant specialist, is championing flowers grown in the north east of England as part of the national campaign to encourage more people to choose locally grown blooms in their bouquets.

The Flower Folk, which opened in 2018, will host a week of events including talks, workshops and a British flower takeover where the shop will solely stock seasonal, locally grown flowers and foliage to show off the variety and quality of flowers that are grown in the region.

Especially designed to kick start British Flowers week that runs 10th to 16th June. We will be supporting British growers and using solely seasonal flowers and foliage in this class.

In this class we will discuss care and conditioning methods of your materials. What flowers and varieties we have chosen and why. Demonstrate how to hand tie in a natural Wild Flowers country garden style, understanding principles and elements of design and applying them to our creation.

In a series of stunning photographs, Tessa sheds light on the individuals who are contributing to this vibrant, artisan cut-flower industry.
